When purchasing seed of any kind
farmers should be sure to read the seed
tag to check on variety, germination and
purity. By checking the seed tag buyers
of seed know what they are getting.

It is not known at this time just what
the seed peanut situation is but farmers
should take precautions. Seed peanut
germination percentage is not as stable as
some other seed and farmers should be
sure to plant enough seed peat ls to in-
sure a good stand.

In sending seed to he State "Seed
Laboratory farmers should send about a
pound of seed in a coffee can or some
other rigid container. If a paper bag is
used it should be a strong bag and proper-
ly packaged to show return address.
