CLASS | MILK PRICE INDEX

NOVEMBER 1, 1959

The price Index for Class I fluid milk in Georgia. |
calculated according to the official pricing formula, in- |
creased 1.97 points between October 1 and November 1! |
from 107.78 to 109.75 and moved up one bracket. The |
change is aitributed to a three dollars per ton increase |
in prices paid for hay, an increase of 0.5 poinis in the |
Wholesale Price Index, and an increase of 3.58 points |
in the Farm Wage Rate Index: but was partially off- |
set by a decrease of one dollar per ton in prices paid
for mixed dairy feed. Other variables remained un- |
changed from October 1. The formula automatically |
balances changes and produces a net change in the |
