The following list of regulations con-
Berning the shipment of tobacco plants in-

. Blasingame, Director of the Georgia De-
yartment of Entomology.
_ The regulations will be effective as of
December 1, 1958.
The regulations state that the

bacco.
. Plants must be sprayed or dusted at
7 to 10 day intervals beginning when
they have true leaves and continu-

7 days prior to pulling. Insecticides
used must be approved by the regula-
tory officials of the state in which
the plants are grown for the control
of possible insect vectors of the dis-
ease Potato Yveinbanding and Etch
Mosaic.
3. Plants must be field inspected by
regulatory officials in the state of
origin and approved as being free
from injurious insects and plant dis-
eases.
4. Each container of plants must be

5. All tobacco plants not bearing
valid certificates of the state of origin
are subject to condiscation upon in-
terception.
6. PENALTIES: Any person who
shall violate any of the regulations:
stated herein or who shall interfere
or obstruct an inspector or agent of
the Georgia Department of Ento-
mology in the performance of his
duties shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by law (Section 15,
Entomology Act of 1937.).
Baxley Barn Pays Debts:
New Managers Take Over
In the October 8 edition of the Market
Bulletin it was announced that the Bax-
ley livestock barn had closed operations
as of July 15 and that the companys
checks were being dishonored leaving the
barn in debt to farmers and others for
more than $40,000.
These debts have now been paid by
the Baxley barn in the amount of approx-
imately $40,000 as of October 24.
The barn planned to open November
11 under the new management of E. E.
Miles and P. D, Miller in the name of
