f The people of the
South are and have always been in favor
of a Constitutional Republic. That was
the main cause for which they fought the
War Between the States. When we align-
ed ourselves with the Democrat Party,
we changed, in our own thinking, the
word Democrat to mean .a Democrat
within the Constitution of the United
States and all the several states. We did
world. In Europe and Asia, democracy
means absolute rule of the majority.
Over there the word Communism means
In the
and Orientals,
Democrat and Communist are synony-
mous. It therefore follows that when we
proclaim ourselves as a democracy and
. at the same time proclaim that we are
fighting Communism, we are
raaking
ourselves a liar in the minds of Euro-
peans and Orientals.. To make ourselves
still more ridiculous, we say that we are
a democracy dnd that Russia is Com-
munist, neither of which is true and ev-
erybody knows it. i
RE-ARMAMENT
We are spending billions upon billions
of dollars for re-armament, saying that
we propose to protect ourselves against
the Communists. Everybody knows,
who has given any thought to it, that we
are not and cannot be in any danger from
any Communists except those here in
America, particularly those _in high
places in America. A Communist coun-
try cannot make war on anybody. A
_ Communist country wotld simply be an
unruly mob, which can do nothing except
prey upon each other. That is why a
dictator is inevitable in any country
where the Communists get strong enough
to take over. The taking. over by Com-
munists and the rise of a dictator are
part and parcel of the same thing. Com-
munism is like the male of the Black
Widow Spider which having achieved his
goal is immediately destroyed.
THE RISE OF POPULAR
GOVERNMENT IN WORLD THINKING
Among the people of Europe and Asia
there is a ground swell of public thought
for popular government. This desire for
rule by the people is natural and it takes
the form-in each country most adapted
to the mental processes of the race in-
volved. The term peoples rule does
not mean the same thing to Europeans
that it does to Americans. It does not
- mean the same thing to Asiatics that it
does to Europeans or Americans, but in

by the Government is inconsistent with
Foreign Armies within the land and is
inconsistent with the idea of economic
control by people of other countries. It
therefore, is necessarily true that any
people who aspire to a Peoples Govern-
ment will be hostile to a nation or na-
tions who send their Armies into their
neighbors lands and who own and con-
trol the natural resources of other coun- |
tries and other peoples.
This is the reason why that in spite ee
the billions of dollars that America has
given to Europeans and Asiatics, they
are still hostile to Americans because of
our world policy.
Yesterday I was talking with Sheriff
Sharp, of Montgomery County, Georgia,
who was present in France and an eye
witness to the fact that when the French
people were getting all their food except
United
States Treasury they were matching and.
celebrating carrying the flag of Russia,
but never a United States flag was to be
seen.
ENGLAND ~
For hundreds of years the British
dominated the seas and held in bondage ~
almost a billion people. For hundreds of
years England,- by force of Arms, plun-
dered the Dutch, plundered the French,
plundered the Spanish, plundered the
Chinese, plundered the people of India,
Africa ond the. Islands of the Sea.
Britain today has no friends on earth
outside of its own commonwealth and
the United States. The United States
has no friends except as a convenience
to receive gifts from the taxpayers of the
United States.
England nationalizes industry at home
under its Socialist-Communist regime,
but would at the same time deny the
people of Iran the same right of na-
tionalizing natural resources within Tran.
The United States has relatively few
Communists in it, but has millions of.
people who are thinking along Com.
munist lines, although they w ould bitter-
ly resent being called Communists. The
present trend in America and England is
to dictatorship and it may not be many
years away. Russia, China and the oth-
er Asiatic countries already have dic
tatorships or are on the road to dictator:
ships. It would be almost a miracle it
the next few decades does not find a
two-way alignment of dictators. The
East arrayed against the West. Frem
