Editoric] - Sy TOM LINDER
And wnen these things begin td come
pass, then look up, and lift up your
ads; for your redemption draweth
agh.St. Luke 21:28.
e twenty-first chapter of St.
e is the recitation of events,
th Christ in the temple at Jeru-
lem. :
sus observed the rich men
ng their gifts into the treas-
. At the same time he observ-
the poor widow casting in all
t she had.
s Jesus listened to some as
ey spake of the great riches
the temple, He was moved to
ll them of things to come.
rst, He told them how the
ws should be driven from Jeru-
lem and the temple of stone
uld be destroyed.
hen, He told of events and
ms preceding His return to
ther the elect to that other
aple not made with hands.

ons moving swiftly to the ful-
iment of all the signs of His re-
nm, it seems that Christians
ould be optimistic.

is somewhat surprising when
_ hear some good people say
at it is a fatalistic attitude to
9k for the disintegration and
wnfall of this world.
Actually all true believers
uld be more optimistic as the
ys go by. .

And when these things begin to come
_to pass, then look up, and lift up your
eads; for your redemption draweth
gh.St. Luke 21:28.

hat are the things that Christ
id us to be the signs of His com-

And there shall be signs in the sun,

As we see world events and con-

NUMBER 30

and in the moon, and in the stars; and

upon the earth distress of nations, with

perplexity; the sea and the waves roar-
mg;

Mens hearts failing them for fear,
and for looking after those things which
are coming on the earth: for the powers
of heaven shall be shaken.St. Luke
21:25-26. :

Today the whole world realizes
that we are facing in the imme-
diate years ahead a great time
of trouble.

The world does not realize this
from a Christian standpoint of
course. The world does see from
international events, and from
the failing of worldly-wise men
to solve the perplexing problems
of earth that some great catas-
trophe is inevitable,

_ The world does see in the Atom
bomb and other terrible instru-
ments of destruction the near ap-
proach of destruction of Arma-
geddon proportions.

But in spite of all the terrible
events coming upon the world,
Christians should siill look up
and lift up their heads, because
these events show that redemp-
tion draweth nigh for all those
of all generations who trust in
Him.

Neither can they die any more: for
they are equal unto the angels; and are

' the children of God, being the children

of the resurrection.St. Luke 20:36.

Easier in each year is a mile-
stone from the resurrection of
Christ to the resurrection of the
Saints and the change in the
twinkling of an eye of those who
do not sleep.

Easter, 1947, marks 1,914 mile-
stones. There cannot be very
many more. .

TOM LINDER,

Commissioner of Agriculture.
