= / February 21st, 1945.
Mr. Tom Linder,

ommissioner,
Georgia State Department of Agriculture,
Atlanta, Ga.

Dear Sir:

_ A proposed wholesale fruit and vdetable terminal
market for this city as an immediate post-war project
has now developed to the point where surveys are be-
ing conducted by a Special Committee representative

all the interests involved. This Committee has been
ppointed on the suggestion of the Ontario Minister
' Agriculture and is comprised of representatives of
yur Federal Government, our Government of the Prov-
ce of Ontario, the Canadian National Railways, the
Canadian Pacific Railway, the wholesale fruit trade
and the commercial fruit and vegetable growers of our
Province.

The Committee would like to visit Atlanta, Ga., on.

arch 16th and 17th next to go over the State market,

d generally survey the type of facilities provided,

the method of operation, including the market rules

nd regulations, fees and rents charged, cost and so
rth. Our party will be ten in number. 4

It would be greatly appreciated if. you would ad-
rise whether this visit is convenient at this time. Trans-
yortation has been arranged by ODT Washington and |
. ir party will be arriving from Kansas City after a look
1t wholesale terminal markets in that area.

Yours very truly, .
G. F. PERKIN,

Director.

being followed by Georgia is not only the correct plan
that it is being reeognized as such in other countries.

We are proceeding as fast in the developing of the:
markets as available funds will permit. It will, howeve
be impossible to undertake a Georgia Market in Wash

this purpose. ee

Not only are the farmers of Georgia losing a lol
money every year for want of such a market, but als <
development of vegetable and fruit crops in Georgia

The fact of the matter is that our eat rep ti :
