Peach Growers Meeting May 8th 1930
>
2 stated in a _ previous article, all of the peach growers are
requested to meet in the Capitol on May 8th, at. eleven o clock,
in the House of Representatives, to diseuss and recommend
certain changes in the. rules. and regulations governing the
s - grades of peaches. There has been a good deal of disiatisfac-
tion about requirements, We will discuss this at this meeting.
There has also been a good deal of dissatisfaction about aie
ing certain fruit rinclaed Med: This will be taken up. I wish to
. oe such rules and regulations as the majority of the grow-
ers think i is the best for the industry.
Bop
a would like toy as many of the peach growers of the state *
as 18 possible to attend the meeting, We have three major peach
_ Sections in Georgia: One is the extreme South Georgia, where
- the fruit ripens early ; then, there is Middle Georgia; and. the
- other section is extreme North Georgia. I would like for rep-
"resentative bodies from all of these sections to be sure to at-
ee
"tend the meeting.
"This morning I a two young men by the name of Lunsford |

of the pigs in South Georgia are inoculated. Where they are : - |
not, I would suggest to the truck drivers that: they have them

men are also inquiring for cabbage. We have some cabbage in 3
the extreme Southern part of the State. It is good business for
one section of the State to trade with another, and the truck
drivers are our best friends. Treat the truck drivers right
also. have the truck drivers treat you right. It is a very easy
matter to inquire about them and see if they are reliable. Truck
drivers should carry either, certified checks with them, or
papers of identification, SO that the varies with whom they
are trading will know that ey, ee rea: Go!
