commodation and food services. The manufacturing

sector endured 1,400 job cuts in November. Durable

goods and non-durable goods manufacturing, respec-

tively, lost 900 and 500 jobs over the month. Private education and health services added 2,300

All of the November job growth was in the health care

and social assistance part of the sector. After six con-

secutive months of job losses, the financial activities

sector added 1,800 nonfarm jobs in November. Gov-

ernment payrolls grew by 1,300 in November after being up 2,700 in October.

Over the year, nonfarm employment in Georgia is up 45,900, an increase of 0.9 percent. Private education and health services (+23,300 jobs), government (+19,500 jobs), leisure and hospitality (+15,100 jobs), financial activities (+4,800 jobs), and other services (+1,200 jobs) added the most jobs from November 2023 to November 2024.
In November 2024, Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) rose to 3.7 percent over the month. Georgia's rate remains below the 4.2 percent national average. Over the year, the state's unemployment rate is up from 3.2 percent in November 2023.
