Tuesday, March 18, 2025 HB 637 by Representative Cummings of the 39th COBB COUNTY: House Bill 637 increases the qualifying amount of a requirement for the Board of Commissioners of Cobb County to hold a public hearing before spending $200,000 to employ a consultant, consulting firm, or an independent study or survey.
HB 732 by Representative Townsend of the 179th GLYNN COUNTY: House Bill 732 authorizes Glynn County to levy a hotel/motel tax.
HB 734 by Representative Hagan of the 156th CITY OF VIDALIA: House Bill 734 provides a referendum for the City of Vidalia to exercise all redevelopment powers.
HB 735 by Representative Hagan of the 156th CITY OF LYONS: House Bill 735 provides a referendum for the City of Lyons to exercise all redevelopment powers.
HB 737 by Representative Smith of the 18th HARALSON COUNTY: House Bill 737 authorizes Haralson County to levy a hotel/motel tax.
HB 738 by Representative Crowe of the 118th BUTTS COUNTY: House Bill 738 abolishes the office of elected county surveyor and provides for the appointment of a county surveyor by the Butts County Commission. The term will be for one year.
HB 739 by Representative Park of the 107th CITY OF LAWRENCEVILLE: House Bill 739 provides for a referendum for the City of Lawrenceville to annex certain described property.

EXEMPTIONS REQUIRE A TWO-THIRDS ROLL-CALL VOTE FOR PASSAGE:
HB 741 by Representative Petrea of the 166th BRYAN COUNTY: House Bill 741 provides a homestead exemption from Bryan County school district ad valorem taxes in an amount by which the current year assessed value exceeds the base value of the homestead.

HB 743 by Representative Fleming of the 114th CITY OF SOCIAL CIRCLE: House Bill 743 provides a homestead exemption from City of Social Circle ad valorem taxes in an amount by which the current year assessed value exceeds the adjusted base year value of the homestead.
HB 744 by Representative Williamson of the 112th CITY OF WALNUT GROVE: House Bill 744 provides a homestead exemption from City of Walnut Grove ad valorem taxes in the amount by which the current year assessed value exceeds the adjusted base year value of the homestead.
HB 745 by Representative Martinez of the 111th CITY OF LOGANVILLE: House Bill 745 provides a homestead exemption from City of Loganville ad valorem taxes in the amount by which the current year assessed value exceeds the adjusted base year value of the homestead.
HB 746 by Representative Williamson of the 112th CITY OF MONROE: House Bill 746 provides a homestead exemption from City of Monroe ad valorem taxes in the amount by which the current year assessed value exceeds the adjusted base year value of the homestead.
SB 302 by Senator Kennedy of the 18th PEACH COUNTY: Senate Bill 302 provides a homestead exemption from Peach County ad valorem taxes in the amount of ten percent of the assessed value of the homestead for all residents.
