SPC tracks the revenue derived from the sale and lease of state owned assets, compared to the cost of SPC's operations, showing a significant annual benefit to Georgians. FY22 $23.5M
The State Properties Commission (SPC) is the real estate portfolio
manager for the state and is responsible for the acquisition and disposition of all state-owned real property or real property interest with
the exception of the Board of Regents and Department of
Transportation.
SPC's Space Management Division received and processed 508 space action requests from State agencies.
SPC tracks the square footage per employee in leased space to drive efficiency in space utilization.
State Properties' lease on behalf of the Department of Human Services allowed the Divisions of Family and Children's and Child Support Services to consolidate three offices of 68,000 square feet into a single office of 47,000 square feet to provide a more efficient and modern long term home for the agency in Marietta, Georgia.
