Obituary
Mr. John Julius Wise, son of Mrs. Lena Ethridge Wise and the late Jule Wise, was born in Batesburg, S. C.
Death came Friday, May 19, 1972 at Saunders Memorial Hospital about mid-day.
He attended the public schools of Batesburg and Bettis Academy. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from South Carolina State College. The Master of Arts Degree was confered by Columbia University.
He was married to Mrs. Olgeretta Davis Wise of Marion, S. C. Olgeretta preceded him in death. In 1971 he married Mrs. Lizzie Andrews Morrison.
He served his nation in the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.
He worked in the public schools of North Carolina for several years.
He was employed as an instructor at Wilson High School, later promoted to assistant principal of Wilson Junior High then principal of Wilson Junior High.
At the time of his death he was principal of Williams Junior High School, Florence, S. C., a position he held for seven years.
He was an active member of St. John A. M. E. Church, Marion, S. C. He served on the trustee Board-
He held membership in the following organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the Florence County Teachers Associa tion, South Carolina Education Association and the National Education Association- The National Association of Secondary School Principals. A Free Accepted Mason, a member of the Advisory Board of the Mental Health Association, Chamber of Commerce and a Notary Public.
His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Andrews Morrison Wise of Pamplico, two step daughters Misses Shirley Deloris and Mona Lisa Morrison. His mother Mrs. Lena E. Wise, Batesburg, S. C., two brothers, Billy Wise, Batesburg, S. C. and Joe Wise of Charleston, S. C., a mother and father-in-law Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Andrews, Pamplico, S. C., and numerous rela tives and friends.

A Prayer
Let Me Do my work each day; And if the darkened hours of despair overcom e me, May I not forget the strength that comforted, me In the desolation of other times. May I still rem em ber the bright hours that found me W alking over the silent hills of my childhood, Or dream ing on the m argin of the quite river, When a light glowed within me, And I promised my early God to have courage Amid the tempests of the changing years.
