11, 1912, in Abbeville, South Carolina to the late Prince Johnson and Janie Johnson Smith.
She departed this life on Friday, April 16, 1999, at the University Hospital.
At an early age, she joined the St. Paul Methodist Church of Abbeville, South Carolina. After moving to Augusta, she joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. E. A. Mass.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late John Wimberly. They were blessed with four children, two of which preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wimberly was an active member of the Belle Terrace Senior Citizens Social Organization. She took part in the Belle Terrace Senior Citizens Choir, Modeled and received various awards and trophies for being the best dressed.
She leaves fond memories to be cherished by: two daughters, Mrs. Johnnie M. (Thomas) Rich and Mrs. Willette (Cookie) Davis, of Augusta, GA; a stepson, Mr. Harold (Rosetta) Wimberly, Beech Island, SC; adopted son, Mr. Charles Thompson, of Augusta, GA; two devoted grandchildren, Harriett Gunter and Cedric Waltower, of Augusta, GA; a devoted niece, Mrs. Virginia J. Chisolm, Augusta, GA; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leollie Keller, Atlanta, GA; Mrs. Sara Johnson, Waterburg, CT; Mrs. Willie Reese Johnson, McCormick, SC; Mrs. Elizabeth Wimberly, Newark, NJ and Mrs. Eunice Smith, Augusta, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Marion Wimberly, Newark, NJ; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three nieces, Elda Elizabeth Johnson and Lela Guest, Manhattan, NY; Beatrice Shirley, St. Louis, MO; two nephews, Thomas Johnson and Johnny (Betty ) Kelly, Augusta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
