A TRIBUTE TO MY GRAMPS

My Gramps always told me that I should never get bored because when you get bored, you get into all kinds of trouble doing bad things. He always told me that in order for him to get much better, all he wanted from me is to become a responsible man and get my education.
Gramps, I will never forget that. I will always do my best.

TRIBUTES

A TRIBUTE TO MY HUSBAND (MY WARRIOR)

He was highly respected by the people for whom he worked. He was a good neighbor, a law-abiding citizen, a man who will be greatly missed in the community in which he lived. While he deemed it right and sensible to prepare a comfortable earthy home, he also knew that he would not always stay in this home. So, he made peace with God and he had a deed to that heavenly somewhere he can live on and on, and join those good Christians who have gone on before him. He also remembered what Solomon said, "Train a child in the way it should go", so he and 1 saw to it that our children attended Sunday School and day schools, thereby shaping their lives in the right directions and those who are left have made honorable men and women.
Naturally my heart is filled with sorrow and the tears will flow because he was taken from me, but 1 should still my grief long enough to think what this home going means to my husband. Toils and burden-bearing are exchanged for the repose of heaven. I thank God for a life which leaves behind it a radiance of purity, goodness and peace.

Till we meet again,

X

IN TRIBUTE TO OUR DAD

In loving memory to our Dad. At a young age, he taught us to seek the kingdom of God. He was a doer as well as a hearer of the word of God. He led his household by his Christian faith and example. His legacy reminds us of the "Great Prophet Joshua" which stated, "Chose you this day whom ye will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:5)
He taught us to have faith in the Lord and to endure hardness as a good soldier. He fought a good fight, ran a good race, and he finished his course, a crown of life awaits him.
His loving memory will always be a part of us.

We love you, Pat, Tony, and Von

His Life Storey
Servant of God, well done; Rest from thy loved employ; The battle fought, the victory won, Enter thy Masters joy
Today we celebrate the life, love, and joy of Anthony Clarence Williamson, II, who entered the Masters joy on Wednesday, October 5, 1994. He was born to the late Anthony Clarence and Bertha Williamson of October 22,1929 in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Clarence was reared in Augusta and educated in the Public Schools of Richmond County.
At an early age, he was converted and baptized at the Hale Street Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. A. W. Vincent. A faithful member for all of his life, he served as Superintendent of the Sunday School and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. It seemed that Hale Street Church and its welfare was always on his mind, and like David, he was always glad to go and work in the house of the Lord.
In 1955, he was united in marriage to Theodosia Virginia Philpot. They were blessed with three children.
Clarence served his country as a soldier in the United States Army from 1950-1953. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
His working experience was with the A & P Tea Company where he was Produce Manager for stores in Augusta, Covington, and Flat Shoals, Georgia. He retired in 1984.
An exceptional bowler, Clarence was the first African-American in his League to be inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame. A lifetime member of the Bowlers Association, he served as President of the Dixie Classic League, and Vice President of the Augusta Bowling League.
Sharing the days of his life have been a devoted wife, Virginia Williamson, one son, Anthony "Tony" Williamson, III, of Minneapolis, Minn., three daughters, Bertha W. Grant, of Hawthorne, Calif, Patricia W. Price of Chicago, 111., and Vonteice W. Davis of Augusta, GA. Nine grandchildren, Tonya, Carmen and Jennifer Price of Chicago, 111., Aiyla, Anthony, IV,

"It is not death to die, To leave this weary road, And mid the brotherhood on high, To be at home with God, It is not death to close the eye long dimmed by tears And wake in glorious repose, To spend eternal years, It is not death to fling aside this sinful dust, And rise on strong, exulting wing, To live among the just, Jesus, Thou Prince of life, Thy chosen cannot die; Like Thee, they conquer to the strife, To reign with Thee on high."

OUR THANKS

To each of you who shared the days of Clarences life - in good times, in sad times, healthy times, and unhealthy time, we say "thank you" because you helped to make him happy.
For the prayer, visits, love, concern, and the many tangible ways in which you have shared with us during this time of sorrow, we say "God bless you" for we are strengthened by each deed.
May God continue to bless each one of you in a very special way, is our prayer.
