Obituary.
Daniel Williams, son o f the late Clarence and Annie Williams, hw.v horn in Aiken County, South Carolina, on April 2, 192". lie attended Bettis Academy and Junior College and became C'apiain o f the football and basketball teams. At an early age, he became a member o f Old Macedonia Baptist Church. Upon graduation from Bettis Junior College, Dan joined the United States Army to which he gave 6 years service. While in military service during the Korean War he received many honors and awards until his Honorable I )/.vi barge as a Sargent h irst Class in May o f 1954.
After settling with his family in Washington, D.C., Dan became a member o f St. Paul Baptist Church and joined the Senior ( 7 wir, to serve as President fo r many years. He later was called to serve as a Deacon at St. Paul, a distinction of which he was very proud.
Daniel Williams is best described in a poem written by one of his 14 grandchildren, / 0 year old, Candace Lashay Baskin:

Dan is also survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Daniel, Jr. and Andre; daughters, Pamela, ( 'assandra, and Melissa; brothers, Louis, Henry and Paul; sisters, Lucy, Annahelle, and ()phelia; and many, many relatives and friends.
