Sonja Renee Murdoch Welh entered into eternal rest on Monday. June 20, 1994.. at the University Hospital Augusta, Georgia.
At an early age. Sonja accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Thankful Baptist Church by the Rev. N. T. Young, Sr. At Thankful, she ws active in the Sunday School, with the Gospel Choir, and all other activities that involved the youth of the church.
She was educated in the public schools of Richmond County, having graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in the class of 1988. She attended Barber-Scotia College, Concord, North Carolina. While At Barber-Scotia, she was initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Sonja was a unique person and will be missed by her family, friends, and those with whom she came in contact.
Sharing the days of her life was her son, Edra Murdock, her husband, Charles Wells, her mother and step-father (SFC Ret.) Chico and Nancy M. Eden. Her father and step-mother Mr. and Mrs. Scott W. (Jacquelyn) Murdock, Sr., one brother, Scott W. Murdock, Jr. of Anderson, S.C. Two great uncles, James Holland of New York, N.Y. and Thomas Holland, Augusta, GA. Mother-in-law Mrs. Jeannett Simons of Augusta, GA., a number of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled A place is vacant in our home That never will be filled.
