If you knew Zeno, then you would know the pleasure that was his to stand at the door of Thankful Church and greet members and visitors as they came to worship services weekly. He loved his job, he loved people.
He was born to Austin and Harriett Way on May 20, 1892 in Bur ke County, Georgia. He departed this life on February 13, 1976.
He moved to Augusta at an early age and united himself with Thankful Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until death.
He was a retired employee of the Georgia Railroad and a veteran of World War I.
Immediate survivors are a devoted wife, Ella Mae Way; three sis ters, Lucinda Peters, Savannah, Georgia, Susie Ponder, Philadelphia, Pa., and Clara Brown, Augusta; one sister-in-law, Alberta Way; two bro thers-in-law, Elijah Ponder, Philadelphia, Pa., and Ed. Ramsey, Augusta; three nieces, Georgene Powell, Augusta, Hattie McAufee, Philadelphia, Christine Brown, Philadelphia, three nephews, Clarence Brown, New York City, Johnnie Gostlon, New York City, and Joseph Ramsey, Au gusta, Godchild, Sheila Clark, cousins, and a host of sorrowing iriends.
/ shall not falter when night closes So much have I had of joy, love, service Perhaps I shall be glad to rest A little while then begin again In some other sphere.
