Elvira was born in Augusta, GA a t the University Hospital and spent her life here. She graduated from Lucy, C. Laney High School in 1964 and for sometime worked as a Presser a t Silversteen's Dry Cleaners.
The Family's home church is Ebenezer B ap tist Church in Burke County where she attended as a child.
Elvira met Robert Willie Gordon, Sr. and the two had a son, Robert Willie Gordon, Jr. She raised her son in Augusta, GA and was loving, yet stern with him. Her son was her pride and joy and she found pride in him joining the United S tate s Military. She would often visit her son (now) Sergeant Robert Willie Gordon, Jr. on occasion in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
During her time in Augusta, GA Elvira met a host of people and maintained friendshipwith many of them, however there were two friends in p articu la rth a t she kept close to her heart, Ms. Lois Elam and Ms. Lucille Dunbar whom she loved dearly. They would come to check in on her and the three shared many laughs and memories.
Elvira was full of life and enjoyed seeing others laugh. She enjoyed spending tim e with family and friends and was always surrounded by them. She enjoyed helping others and was indeed a light in the eyes of so many who knew and loved her.
Elvira will be greatly missed and her memory will live on for years in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She would want those who knew her to remember her as fun, kind, loving, and full of life.
Elvira was preceded in death by her mother, Paraiee Waltower Fuller, Augusta, GA: Father Lonnie Waltower, Augusta, GA: two loving sisters, Josephine Waltower, Augusta, GA and JoKatherine Walker, Birmingham, AL.
Elvira leaves behind an only son, Robert Willie Gordon, Jr., Augusta, GA: brother Hebert Alexander Waltower, Philadelphia, PA; grandson, Tyrin Terrell West of Augusta, GA: and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and friends.
