James Edward Waltower was born on October 11, 1949 in Augusta, Georgia, to Garfield and Beatrice Waltower. He was the youngest of 5 sisters and brothers where he was lovingly known as "Huckaberry." He enjoyed a loving and safe childhood during his stay in Georgia. He attended Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia under the leadership of B.I Yernon. James graduated from Lucylaney High School and a few years later relocated
to New York City where he attended Brooklyn College.

He was employed by Hemsley Spear Company and worked part-time at New York Telephone Company. In Brooklyn, he met the late Nancy Charles Waltower. God blessed them with two (2) children, Anthony and Sharkeish. Huckaberry is well known for his charming personality, easy-going nature and willingness to help others.
Huckaberry ended his journey of life entering everlasting rest, Friday, January 9, 2004. He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Anthony Tyrone Waltower of Dorchester, MA, a daughter Sharkeish Alethea Taylor (Anthony, Sr.) of Orange, N], one (1) sister Adnne Downs of Augusta, GA, two (2) brothers Grady (Minnie) and Earl Waltower of Brooklyn, NY, and a special mother-inlaw Nellie Charles of Brooklyn, NY. Also four (4) grandchildren, Dashaleek Jeter of Queens, NY, Tangier Waltower, Anthony, Jr. and Zyah Taylor of Orange, N|, one (1) Aunt Lula (Sammy) Johnson of Jersey City, NJ, and one (1) Uncle Nathaniel (Bell) Harris of South Carolina.
James' home going will unite him with his deceased brother Garfield Waltower and deceased sister Beatrice Gallop.

Both light and shadowsfill my days

.

And looking back I have to say

The roses bloomed.... they died....

And today, I THANK YOU LORD

For the thorns.

Humbly Submitted in Love, The Farmlv
