In loving memory of John Franklin L. Vaughn, Wednesday, October 10, 1984, 4:30 p.m., Rev. R. C. Holloway, officiating

John Franklin L. Vaughn was born to the late Wallace W. Vaughn and Elizabeth Johnson Vaughn on Dec. 22, 1937, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and departed this life on Friday, October 5,1984.
At an early age he received Christ and was baptised and very active in his association with churches in Staunton, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland and in Saluda, S.C. He served in the United States Army.
John Franklin had many firsts in his life, among those of which he was most proud, being the first black salesperson for the L. P. Stewart Chrysler dealership in Maryland where he received many awards and recognitions. He was the founder of the VFW Post 6561, Saluda. He was also the inventor of the " Vaughn Fire Dog." His craftsmanship, sensitivity and leadership will be his legacy to us.
John Franklin leaves to cherish his sweet memory his wife, Virginia Coleman Vaughn; a daughter, Beverly; a step mother, Ada B. Vaughn; eight sisters, Norene, Shirley, Nancy, Joyce, Carolyn, Dale, Arlene and Garnett; an aunt, Estelle Walker; two uncles, Beverly Johnson and Ernest Vaughn; father- and mother-in-law, Leroy and Irene Coleman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers- and sisters-in-law and friends.
With deepest gratitude, we wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the many friends and church members for your comfort and other acts of kindness during our hour of bereavement. May God bless all of you and many thanks.
