jftly Hast Request
Please don't say that I gave up, ju st that I gave in. D on't say I lost the battle, fo r it was God's war to lose or win.
Please don't say howgood I was, but that I my best. Just say I tried to do what's right, togive the most I could, not do less.
Please don't give me wings or halos, that'sfo r God to do. I w ant no more than I deserve, no extras, ju st my due.
Please don't give flowers, or talk in harsh tones. D on't be concerned about me now,
I 'm well with God, I 've made it home. Don't talk about what could have been, it's over and it 's done.
Just see to all my fa m ily's needs, the battle has been won. When you draw a picture o f me, don't draw me as a saint, I 've done some good, I 've done some wrong, so use all your paint. N ot ju st the bright and light tones, use somegray and dark In fact, don't p u t me down on canvas p a in t me in your hearts.
D on't ju st remember all the good times, but remember all the bad.
For life isfu ll o f many things some happy and some sad. B u t i f you must do something, then I have one last request Forgive me for the wrongs I 've done and with the love that's left
Thank God fo r my soul's resting, Thank god fo r all who love me, Praise God who loved me best.

There are insufficient words to express the depths of gratitude and appreciation the family feels towards the many friends, neighbors and associates who offered love, support and comfort during our difficult time of bereavement. Your prayers, calls, cards, gifts of food and needed services, and your many other kind gestures have sustained us. We wish the Lord's blessings on each and every one of you.

Reflections of Hife
Retired U.S. Army M /Sgt. Charles M. Turner was born on July 20, 1935 to Mary Terrell and John Turner, Sr., in Columbus, Mississippi, where he attended school and grew up. He left Columbus at the early age of seventeen and enlisted in the U.S. Army.
M /Sgt. Turner had a long and distinguished military career that lasted 21years. During that time, he was stationed in many U.S. bases including Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, Ft. Rucker, Alabama, and Ft. Gordon, and overseas in Germany. It was during his service at Ft. Belvoir that he met and married the woman who was to become his lifetime mate and partner, Arichia Marie Reynold. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam in 1966 and 1971, serving in Signal Corps. He trained as an avionics and communications specialist. His awards and decorations included the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, Army Commendation medals, and many citations for meritorious service and achievements. Upon his retirement from the military in 1976, Charles graduated from Augusta College with a bachelor's in business administration.
An entrepreneur at heart, Charles started and operated several business ventures including a nightclub and a manufacturing company. He started NATAX Systems, a tax preparation and accounting firm, and was its sole proprietor for more than twenty-five years. A consummate businessman, Charles engaged with many associates in planning, launching and investing in many business ventures in Augusta area.
Charles and Arichia are charter members of Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church, and gave many devoted hours of service there. Charles served as an elder, auditor and accounting consultant on many church matters.
An avid golfer for most of his adult life, Charles was a founding member of Master City Golf Association, and helped establish the youth golfing program to engage more minority youth in the sport he loved. He also organized a men's golfing group that sponsored an annual golf fund raiser for Belle Terrace Church.
Charles was also an active member and supporter of the National Association of Black Accountants.
Charles perhaps will be most remembered as a devoted family man, who loved and supported all of his immediate and extended family. To them, he gave his all -- emotional and financial support, advice and assistance of every kind, when and wherever needed.
Friends, too, will remember his generous and gracious nature, his "can do" attitude and his zest for a life well lived. All will remember him as a passionate, well-informed man with deep convictions, views and opinions, which he vigorously defended.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Arichia; son, Jason; grandchildren, Dy'Shon Taylor, Victoria Bowser and Brandon Vereen; sisters, Omie Mae Peoples and Patricia Ball; sister and brother-in-law, Vetodis and Garcia Garnett; nieces and nephews, Joyce, Fredrick and Sabbaye McGriff, Michael (Karla) and Eric Needam and Linda Peoples; dear cousins, Ethel and Jackie Fletcher and Marcia and Roland Harrell, as well as an extended family of nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, cousins and in-laws. Charles was predeceased by his eldest son, Charles "Chuck" Turner, II.
At 73, Charles Milton Turner, Sr., transitioned from this life on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
