]ea/vt (yyandeas;
Mrs. Pearl Sanders Tillman was born ]une 2, 1910, to the late Willingham Sanders and Barbara Sanders in Barnwell County, South Carolina. She was plucked fo r God's beautiful garden on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2009, at Specialty Select Hospital.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Thomas Grove Baptist Church, Barnwell County, South Carolina. After making her home in Augusta, Georgia, she joined Springfield Baptist Church and faithfully attended both churches until her health failed in 2006.
Pearl Sanders was joined in Holy Matrimony to Charlie Tillman on December 15, 1928.
Pearl possessed a great sense o f humor and had a great "gift o f gab." Until her recent illness, she was very alert; she could recall people, dates, places and events as though they happened yesterday.
Pearl was a connoisseur o ffoods; hence, she was an excellent cook. Simply, she was a woman o f class.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a surrogate daughter, Maggie M. Hill o f Augusta, Georgia; godson, Wendell (Joilanda) Lofton Jr. o f Lithonia, Georgia; sister-in-law, Charlotte Nickerson o f North Augusta, South Carolina; and an abundance o f nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

W hen I am gone, release me, let me go . . . I have so many tilings to see and do. You musn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so many beautiful years. I gave to you my love, you can only guess, how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I w on't be far away, for life hoes on. So if you need m e, call and 1 will com e. Though you can't see or touch me, I 'll be near. A nd if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, all my love around you soft and clear. A nd then, when you must come this way alone . . . I 'll greet you with a smile and say W elcome H o m e..."
Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we know you care. We greatly appreciate your generosity. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much, whatever your part. A special note of thanks to Heritage Health Care, Deacon Horace Walker, Dr. Otha L. and Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Gray and Mrs. Mattie Ruth Gilbert and Family for your love, support and kindness extended over the years.
