On Thursday evening, October 2, 2003 at 6:00 p.m., God sent His angel to bring Mrs. Carrie Lee Thompkins home to rest from her labor and to receive her reward. She was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Carrie) Walker on January 14, 1925, in Richmond County, Georgia.
She was reared in a strong Christian home, and as a result, at an early age, Carrie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was converted and baptized by the late Reverend E. A. Moss at Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she remained a servant of God until her death.
Carrie was loved by all that knew her, and she leaves a legacy of love, devotion and generosity to her family and friends; whom she cherished so dearly.
One daughter, Birdell Walker and one brother, Leroy Walker, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories four daughters, Marzene (Ivan) Milton, Janice (Frank) Garrett and Robbie Reynolds, all of Augusta, Georgia and Brenda (Alvin) Bryant, Douglasville, Georgia; three sons, Anthony (Frankie) Reynolds, Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy (Gloria) Thompkins and Patrick (Cathy) Thompkins, both of Augusta, Georgia; one sister, Annie Mae Jordan; twenty grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In loving memory of Carrie Thompkins
May she always walk in sunshine and flowers around her grow. The happiness she brought us no one would ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Although your smile is gone forever and your hands we cannot touch, we will always have your memories for we love you so very much.

Dear Lord, thou has promised that thou wouldst never leave
us nor forsake us. We trust in thy promise and have faith that
thou wilt perform as thou hast covenanted with thy children to
do. Thou hast always shown thyself to be a God of infinite
mercy and tenderness. Make us feel thy presence today that we
may be comforted and strengthened in our faith. We thank
thee for the privilege of bringing our burdens and sorrows
unto thee, that we might leave them before thy throne of grace
and graciousness. Many times we have not known comfort,
because we have not sought it from thee. We have tried to find
solace and peace in the world and it escaped us until we
brought all our needs unto thee. So speak to our hearts and
minds today, in words of love and comfort. For His sake.
. .
AMEN
We, the family of Mrs. Carrie Lee Thompkins would like to express our sincere appreciation for the numerous expressions of sympathy extended to us during the illness and death of our loved one. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered. May God continue to bless and keep each and every one of you.
