Georgia Philpot Thomas was bom in Merriweather County, South Carolina, better known as Clarks Hill, SC. She was bom to the late Wilson Philpot, Sr. and Hattie Sullivan Philpot. She was one of nine children all who preceded her in death (All the children had nick names): Wilson, Jr. "Boss," Sallie Mae "Sister," Charity "Pig," James "Bud," Hattie Pearl "Miss," Verdere, Sr. "Booga," George "Wolf," Corine "Sweetning, "and Georgia "Sug."
Pier former education was at the Rosen Well School of the Hope Well Baptist Church.
S|ie accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Hope Well Baptist Church where she served as an usher and a choir member. She served her church faithfully until her health failed.
As a young adult she did domestic work and traveled extensively with her employers. She also worked at Fort Gordon U.S. Army Base for twenty years, where she was acclaimed as a master cook and kitchen expert. There she met and married James Thomas who preceded her in death. There were no children o f this union.
We can celebrate her life by honoring the fond memories of her awesome sense of humor and her candid ways of speaking most of all.
Wpiile in the convalescent home "The Place" formerly Jennings Health Care, she still showed her love for God and her church. Besides receiving fellowship and the Lord's Supper from her church, she looked forward to worshiping and being with family and friends at Homecoming Service.
She leaves to celebrate her life and reflect on her memories her nieces and nephews, Lily D. Philpot Green, Verdere (Lillian) Philpot, Jr., who were her primary care givers, James (Mary) Philpot, Jr., Wilson Philpot, Kenneth C (Edith) Philpot, all of Augusta, GA, Betty J. Lewis, Yvonne Bowden, Joyce A. Mason, Daniel Philpot, Emanuce Philpot, all of Philadelphia, PA; eighteen grand nieces and nephews, fifteen great grand nieces and nephews arid a host of cousins and other relatives.
