Please don't say that 1 gave up, ju st say that I gave in. D on't say I lost the battle,
fo r it was God's war to lose or win. Please don't say how good I was, but that I did my best.
Just say I tried to do what's right, to give the most I could, not do less. Please don't give me wings or halos, that'sfo r G od to do. I want no more than I deserve, no extras, ju s t my due. Please don't give flowers, or talk in harsh tones. D on't be concerned about me now, Pm well with God, Pve made it home. D on't talk about what could have been,
it's over and it's done. Just see to all myfam ily's needs, the battle has been won. When you draw a picture o f me, don't draw me as a saint,
Pve done some good, Pve done some wrong, so use a ll your paint.
N otju st the bright and light tones, use some gray and dark
In fact, don't p u t me down on canvas paint me in your heart.

fla&et t7evuf, was born on November 11, 1936, to
the late Limmie and Sallie Payne Terry, in Columbia County, Georgia. He was called home on Friday, July 21, 2000.
At an early age, he was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Martinez, Georgia under the leadership o f Rev. J. C. Gardener, where he served on the Usher Board.
On August 29, 1958, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Margaret Matthews. To this union one child was born.
He retired from University Hospital after twenty ones years o f service as an Environmental Service Supervisor. He also retired as a Brick Mason due to illness.
He united with Macedonia Baptist Church with his wife where he was serving on the Trustee Board.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Margaret M. Terry; devoted son, John H. (Alice) Terry, Jr.; devoted daughter, Annetta Mackie; sister, Gwendolyn (Albert) Williams; three brothers, James (Connie) Terry, Theodore (Faye) Terry and Roosevelt (Katie) Terry; sister-in-law, Mertis Terry; brother-in-law, Milton Murry, Sr.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kirby and Chelsea Martin; devoted nephew, Elliert Clark; devoted niece, Phyllis Murry; godchildren, Tiffany Stokes and Lasonya Grandstaff; a dear cousin, Willie Mae Day; dear friends, Dea. Edward and Earnestine Price and David Jenkins, Sr.; other nieces, nephews, cousins andfriends.
