r The Obituary

Addie Fuller Terry, the third child born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Edgar and Tena Fuller, was a product of the Picquet Avenue neighborhood. In her youth, she attended Charles T. Walker Elementary School, graduated from Paine College High School, and matriculated at Paine College.
For many years, Addie was employed with J. C. Penney from where she retired. After retirement, she spent her time as a seamstress making draperies and altering clothes for family, friends and all who learned of her special talent for making a window blossom into new life.
Addie was an avid sports enthusiast. Golf, tennis and baseball were her joy. If there was only one television to watch and sports was on the agenda, you can believe that Addie had you tuned in to one of these sports. She also enjoyed the ceramic craft projects at the Eastview Community Center. Her handiwork is evident in a lot of homes.
In her early years, she joined her family in worship at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend R. C. Calhoun. She served there many years singing in the Robert Lamar Chorus. Subsequently, she joined the fellowships of Thankful Baptist Church (1984) and Servants of God Baptist Church (1995) where she was active in the Kitchen Ministry serving up many of the family recipes. She was undying and faithful in her attendance. Even in her weak moments, she wanted to be found in worship.

But God Almighty had some windows to decorate, a game to be played and catering to be done in heaven. On Tuesday morning, July 20, 1999, He visited Addie at 712 Albany Avenue and led her out to where His chariot awaited. She was in a hurry to go. In her usual fashion and "take charge" way, she told her loved ones to "leave me alone and don't worry about me," for she was on her way home.

She sweetly waved goodbye, stepped in the chariot, put her hand in God's hand, gave orders to the driver, and gently closed her eyes to this world of toil and strife as she rested in God's bosom.

Addie's memories will linger in the hearts of those who knew and

loved her: Three brothers: Eugene Fuller, Charles Fuller and Harold

Fuller, all of Augusta, GA; Two sisters: Thelma Skinner of

Philadelphia, PA; and Jennie F. Cooper of Augusta, GA; One brother,

Julius, preceded her in death; Two sisters-in-law: Evelyn Franklin

Fuller of Augusta, GA; and Willie Mae Fuller of Philadelphia, PA; One

uncle, Will Rogers of Augusta, GA; Fifteen nieces and nephews;

Fourteen great-nieces and -nephews; One great-great-niece; Two

godchildren: Darrell Jennings and Guila J'Nai Cooper, several close

friends; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to

Miss Me, But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set me free,
I want no rites in a gloom-filied room Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan; A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds Miss me, but let me go.
