M r . W alter T errell, was born on April 17, 1927, in
Jefferson County, Georgia to the parentage, the late Mr. Frank and Annie Bell Hannah Terrell.
At an early age he joined Sandvalley African Methodist Epis copal Church in Louisville, Georiga.
He left Georgia at a very young age for Washington, DC. He loved singing and giving God the praise. He formed a group and named them The Mighty Christianairs, and they traveled all neigh boring states praising, singing and serving as their lead singer. He was very happy and dedicated person.
He joined The Greater First Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where Reverend Winston C. Ridley, Jr. is pastor.
Mr. Walter Terrell was a Brick Mason and a K-9 Security Officer.
His health began to fail him, he returned to Georgia and lived with his sister, Sis. Naomi Courtney. He attended Mt. Calvary Bap tist Church, where she is currently a member under the leadership of Reverend Clyde Hill, Sr.
He soon moved hack to Washington, DC and attended his church and fellowshipped with singing groups. "He made a joyful noise unto the Lord."
He was called to rest on June 4, 2002, in Washington, DC. He leaves to mourn: an ex-wife, Mrs. Marie Brown Terrell Hickman; four sons, Walter Terrell, Jr., who preceded him in death, Freddie Terrell, Tony Terrell and Ronnie Terrell, all of Washington, DC; two daughters, Annie Bell Bure and Glory Gean Terrell, both of Washington, DC; grandchildren, and two stepsons, all of Washing ton, DC; three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Courtney, Augusta, GA, Ora Bell (James) Gentry, Thomson, GA adn Margaret Kettles, Cleveland, OH; one brother, Mr. Herbert Terrell, Augusta, GA; one uncle, Thomas Walker, Augusta, GA; one aunt, Corine Hannah, Louisville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
