OBITUARY
B e rn ard Tankeley was born on September 29, 1946 to the late pharlie Tanksley and Julia Tanksley. He was called home on February 4, 2003. A t an early age, he accented Christ and joined Oakey Grove b a p tis t Church.
B ernard was a native Augustan and attended Richmond County Public Schools. He was a graduate of the Lucy C. Lariey Class of 1964. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and later attended Paine College. He married the former Charlotte Walton and to th is union, three children were born: Michael, Delores, and Diadra Tanksley.
He leaves to mourn his memory: his mother, Julia Tanksley, one son; Michael (Velveeta) Tanksley, two daughters, Delores Griffin, Diadra (Roderick) Dunbar; a brother, Robert (Emma) Tanksley; two sisters, Delois (Sobby) Hamm, Sianche (Nathan) Quarterman; seven grandchildren, Diadra Griffin, S ritta n y Smith, Sethurel Griffin, Jr., Michael Tanksley, Jr., Ashley Griffin, A'dante Dunbar, Jonathan Bernard Tanksley; a devoted friend, Gertrude Murray; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
