sun rose and f3arbara Ann was born to Roxianna and the late Nobman Ryans, Sr. in Augusta, (3a. on November 7,1942. She went t d school in Richmond County and graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in 1961. Upon graduation, Barbara pursued a career in nursing. She was married to the late Samuel Lee Tankersley. Four ch Idren were born to th is union, one of whom preceded he*r in death.
A t an early age, Barbara accepted Christ as her savior and was ba tized a t Beulah Grove B aptist Church where she served faithfully, Shle was a dedicated member of the Senior Choir, Recovery Ministry, and Captain of the Judah Tribe. Barbara worked diligently within her corimmunity and served on the New Hope Community Board of Dinectors. She worked as a nurse a t University Hospital for twenty se's 11years. Upon her retirement, Barbara worked part-tim e in the buidget and finance department a t Augusta S ta te University.
06 d called his angel, Barbara, from her earthly home to her heavenly ho hie to receive her ju s t reward on November 5, 2005. Sutviving Ba rbara's death are three devoted daughters, Samora ( Ned ) Howard of Conyers, Ga., Latara Tankersley of Stone Mountain, Ga. an Erica ( Gabriel ) Ortiz of Sierra Vista, Arizona; five adorable gr,andchildren, Tavaris Grubbs, Ashley Middleton, Gabriel Ortiz, Jr., Sydney and Saniah Howard, mother; Roxianna Ryans; brother, Nowman ( Louise ) Ryans, Jr.; two sisters; Dolores ( Johnnie ) Ga rr e tt and Carot/n McDuffie; and a host of loving relatives and
bids.

Momma, we would like to say"thank you" fo r being the one CONSTANT in our lives. You are the best CHEERLEADER anyone could have. No m a tte r what, you have always been there for us. You have always encouraged us to do our best a t everything, and to always tr e a t people the way we would want to be treated. M ost im portantly, you ta u g h t us to always put God f ir s t in our lives, because through Him, you can achieve anything.
We thank GOD fo r giving us one o f His m ost precious angels as our m other and we thank you for living up to His expectations. It is tru ly an honor to have you as a "MOTHER."
