Obituary
Kate Elizabeth Stokes was born the second child to the late William Berry and Virginia Richardson Berry on January 14,1910 in Richmond County. She expired this life on March 19,1992 within the confines of her residence.
On November 23, 1936 she was married to Jackson Stokes, who preceded her in death.
At an early age, she was converted and baptized at the Thankful Baptist Church by Rev. L. P. Pinkney.
Elizabeth was educated in Richmond County and taught school at Silas Floyd School a few years before moving to New York where she stayed for forty-six years.
Upon returnig to Augusta, she reunited with Thankful Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Mrs. Carrie L. Dicks, Augusta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Fannie Davis; four nieces, four nephews, and a host of friends.
