** OBITUARY **
Jackson Stokes, the son of the late Clark and Rebecca Stokes, was born in Hamburg, S.C. on July 5,1910 and departed this life Saturday, July 26, 1986 at the University Hospital.
On November 1, 1936, Jackson married Elizabeth Berry who observed their vows until his demise.
At an early age, Jackson was converted and baptized at Providence Baptist Church. When locating in Inwood, New York he realized the significance of spiritual guidance and thereby joined First Baptist Church of Far Rockway, N.Y. where he served as a member of the Trustee Board.
After retiring as a tailor for forty-two years in New York, he returned to his place of upbringing in 1982.
Survivors include a devoted wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Berry Stokes; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth S. Shumake and Mrs. Fannie S. Davis, Augusta, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Frances 3. CaSdwell and Mrs. Carrie L. Dicks, Augusta; one brother-in-law, Mr. Charlie Shumake, Augusta, and a host of other relatives and friends.
