^W ittiam d \J\. ( B it t y ) ^ t z jit i zm , (tfi., was the first born child of the late Mary M. Stephens and William M. Stephens, Sr. on August 18, 1954.
At an early age, he joined and was baptized at the Jerusalem Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Reverend L.W. Westbrooks.
"Billy" as he was affectionately called attended Levi White EL ementary and T.W. Josey High School, where he played for the football team and graduated in 1972.
"Billy" went on to further his education in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Bell and Howell Institute of Technology and received a de~ gree in Computer Technology. He was employed by the Xerox Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in Computer Repair for several years.
He later returned to Augusta, after becoming ill to be with his family. He departed this life on October 30, 2001.
He leaves to cherish his fond Inemory: a son, Timothy; a de^ voted sister, Ms. Karen S. Walker; a loving aunt, Mrs. Annabel Jones; a nephew, Tommy L. Walker, Jr.; cousins, Mr. Roy (LaVeita) Jones, Mrs. Vivian (Ronald) Brooks, Mrs. Vernice Morman, Ms. Lafeyette Morman, Mr. Tommy Morman, Mrs. Wilhelmena Anderson, Cleveland, Ohio, James (Evelyn) Thomas, Hollis, New York and Mr. Bobby Nelson; grandmother, Mrs. Artie Watson; a caring friend, Ms. Shirley Cunningham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
