Mrs, Mary M. Stephens, daughter of the late Mrs. Fleata Simpkins, departed this life Thurs day morning December 15, at the University Hos
pital; after a very brief illness. She was born in Augusta, Georgia, September
$, 1915. At an early age, she was converter! and baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church un der the pastorage of the late Reverened T, W.
Adams. She was married to the late William Stephens
Senior. To this union, two children were bo:--n. She served as organist until December 12,She
always has been faithful in jobs assigned to
her. She leaves to mourn two wonderful children-,
Mr. William Stephens,Jr; and Miss Karen Ste phens; a devoted sister, Mrs. Annabel Jones, all of Augusta; two aunts, Mrs. Willie M. Dunn. of Augusta, and Mrs. Cora Alston of Savannah, Georgia; three god children Willene Rouse, Larry Butler, Jr. and Sharon Moore of Augusta.
Several nieces and nephews, and other rela
tives and friends.

Why do we mourn departed friends Or shake at deaths alarm. Tis but the voice that Jesus sends To call them to His arms

Lord, held us so to live
