In/Loving, Memory of "Q-Mama?
Thinking of the smiles, laughs, and tears we shared, the conversation and hard times we bared.
I remember when we sat and talked. With tears in my eyes, I feel no loss.
One day you told me you would die, but dying only meant living in the sky.
You told me of this special place, angels would be blowing their horns at the site of your face. And you would not fear the presence of the Lord, because you know one day victory would be yours.
As I started crying, you wiped the tears from my face and said,"I'll always be here in your special place."

"G ra n d m a ?
When I needed a friend, my Grandma was there giving advice. When I needed help my Grandma was there helping me. When I needed a second mother, my Grandma was there teaching me. When I needed another father, my Grandma was there to discipline me. When I needed another teacher, my Grandma was there teaching me. When I needed the Lord, at times, she was there to guide and help me understand. My Grandma was and always will be my idol, super hero, and who I look up to, to become a better person and she will continue to be those things to me.

The Life o fSister Connie E. Steed, In-retrospect
"When tomorrow starts without me, and I am not here to see. And if the sun should rise andfind your eyes allfilled with tears for me, I wish you wouldn't cry, the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say."
Connie Elaine Steed was born August 27, 1948 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Joe Steed and Dorothy L. Steed.
During the early years of Connie's life, she was introduced to Jesus Christ at the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta. There she accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was baptized in 1958 by the late Rev. N. J. Watkins. Later she joined the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of Rev. Dr. J. R. Hatney.
Connie was educated in Richmond County. She attended Doughty and Levi White Elementary schools; Davidson and A. R. Johnson Junior High schools; and when the new T.W. Josey High School opened, she became a member of the first graduating class in 1966.
Connie's career began at Bell South Telephone Company as an Operator in 1967. She later attended Augusta Technical School on White Road where she received her LPN diploma and became licensed to practice. After receiving her license, she was employed at Georgia Regional Hospital and Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She was a Postal Clerk at the U. S. Post Office as well as a substitute teacher for many years.
'1 know how much you loved me, just as much as I loved you. For each time you think of me, I know you'll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. He said my place was ready, In heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those l dearly loved"

The Life of Sister Connie E. Steed
Connie's life was filled with many happy days. She worked hard to provide for her daughter Kenya. She wanted the best for her. She loved her mother and was determined to give her the best care she could in her latter days. Her granddaughters, Asia, Egypt and Paris were the joy of her life. She shared many fond memories with sister, Dorothy Ann, who preceded her in death, her extended family and friends.
In recent years Connie's health began to fail. Her body weakened. She became tired. So, God in His own way and in His own time decided to come and rescue her and took her to her eternal home so she could receive the perfect healing that only He can provide. On Friday, July 17, 2009, Connie took the angel's hand.............. leaving those who loved her with cherished memories.
Her mother, Mrs. Dorothy L. Steed; daughter, Mrs. Kenya (Theron) Steed-Hall; granddaughters, Asia, Egypt, and Paris; sisters, Mrs. Gensice Turner and Ms. Jo-Angelyn Mack; uncle, Mr. Alexander Scott; nieces, Mrs. Debra(Carl) Lloyd; Ms. Carole Lyons and Mrs. Tamara{Calvin) Cox; nephews, Mr. Eric Lyons and Mr. Keven Mack; a host of relatives and friends.
"So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there In your heart.
