Still waters often time run deeply, yet so peacefully and serenely. Like the quiet flow of a stream, the calming sound of a brook, Q?te&fo?t ^Co^t ^I)6ocm(^[/fai>66(/n{z lived her life. She was a lady of quiet dignity and one of subtle strength.
On July 29, 2003, after flowing over rough terrain, her stream flowed gloriously into everlast ing waters. She was born July 4, 1927, to the late Hubert and Gaynell Smalley Blount, Augusta, Georgia.
She was a lifelong and faithful member for 64 years of Greater Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. At Greater Mt. Canaan, she began singing in the choir at twelve years old and remained an active member until three years ago when illness would not allow her to continue.
She was married to the late Purnell Stallings for fifty-one years. Four children blessed their union: Jimmie Purnell Stallings, Sr. (Jean), Bronx, NY, Delores Marie Stallings Green (Philpot), Wendell Louis Stallings, Sr. (Angela), and Valeria Stallings, Augusta, GA.
Other love ones include: a devoted sister, Ophelia Blount Johnson (Alfred), Augusta, GA; two daughters-in-law, Jean Stallings (Jimmie), Bronx, NY, Angela Johnson Stallings (Wendell), Augusta, GA; one son-in-law, William London Green, Sr. (Delores), Augusta, GA; four brothers-in-law, L.D. Stallings (Annabelle), Aiken, SC, J.B. Stallings (Elsie), Hawaii, Willie Stallings (Ethel), Brooklyn, NY, Alfred Johnson (Ophelia), Augusta, GA; nine grandchildren, William London Green, Jr. (predeceased), Clinton Purnell Green (C.P.), Augusta, GA, Jimmie Purnell Stallings, Jr. ( J.P.), Bronx, NY, LaWanda Renee Stallings, Charlotte, NC, Tiffany Simone Stallings, Bronx, NY, Akiva Stallings, Atlanta, GA, Wendell Louis Stallings, Jr., Jacqueline Bernita Stallings, Augusta, GA, Marvin Scott, Minto, ND; three great grandchil dren, a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends are saddened by her passing.

One of the most magnanimous blessings that God can bestore upon a family is having the Care-LoveSupport of friends when its needed the most.
With hearts filled with thanksgiving and humbleness, we are grateful to each of you who displayed compas sion and kindness in a myriad of ways during our love ones illness as well as during the time of bereavement.
