Obituary
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. John 14:27.
Let not your heart be troubled. John 14:1.
On the morning of September 7, 1987, Mrs. Savannah B. Springs silently left with the angel of silence away to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow and pain. Although her family did everything that they could to relieve her pain, it was God's will that she should go.
Mrs. Springs, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Boughtknight, was born on May 3, 1914, in Saluda County, S.C. She was a devoted member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a member of the Senior Choir, the Missionary Society, and Deaconess Board. She also was an active member of the Everready Club #2 and Women's Aide Society.
She was married to Mr. Henry B. Springs. This union was blessed with six children. Mrs. Springs had an encouraging word and friendly smile for all whom she met.
Cherishing fond memories are a devoted husband, Henry B. Springs of the home; one daughter, Annie B. Pope of Patterson, N.J.; five sons, Mr. Clarence Springs of New York City, N.Y., Mr. James Springs of Johnston, S.C., Mr. Charlie Springs, Mr. Paul B. Springs and Mr. Danny Springs, all of Saluda, S.C.; one brother, Mr. Dan Boughtknight of Columbia, S.C.; 26 grand children; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-inlaw; 3 daughters-in-law; 1 son-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of sorrowing friends.

Resolution
Whereas, the Rock Hill Church has suffered a great loss in the home-going of Sis. Savannah Springs, who was loved by all who knew her. She lived a true Christian life and has served her Lord well. Her loyalty to her church, her faithfulness to her family and her kindness to her friends shall ever be a living memorial to her beautiful life. She has labored hard and long and the Lord has promised her rest.
Whereas, Sister Springs departed this life September 7, 1987, at Saluda and will no longer go about her accustomed duties, we mourn, but not as those who have no hope, but as those who ex pect to meet with her again in that other world beyond the horizon. Therefore, be it resolved, that we strive to emulate her beautiful service-filled life in every respect; that we express our sympathy to her family.
Sorrowfully submitted, Rev. R. C. Holloway, Pastor Dea. James Gibson, Chairman
