MRS. QENEVA SMITH, was born March 24, 1910,
to the late Walter and Mary Lowery in Louisville, Georgia. Her par ents taught her the importance of leaning on the Lord, a lesson that Geneva would never forget. At an early age she accepted the Lord as her Savior, and joined Eden Baptist Church in Louisville, Georgia.
Geneva met and married the late Mr. John Robert Smith. To this union no children were born, but she became a surrogate mother to many including her niece, Leola Brown, in which she raised as her own. She was affectionately called "Ma Gee" by those who loved her. She was dedicated to her family, meeting whatever needs there was out of love and devotion.
Geneva was no stranger to hard work. For years she traveled as a migrant worker to earn a living. She loved children and she cared for many. She was the Director of the Migrant Workers Daycare Cen ters in both New York and Florida.
After years of traveling, Geneva made Augusta, Georgia her home. She joined the Antioch Baptist Church where she attended faithfully. She was a member of various organizations throughout the years including the Mission. Geneva was loved by her neighbors, and was known for helping those in need. She will also be remembered for her love of gardening, and the joy she received from selling items at the local Flee Markets.
On Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Westwood Nursing Home our beloved Ma Gee was beckoned home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two brothers, Andrew Jor dan, Waynesboro, Georgia and James Jordan, Miami, Florida; three sisters, Beatrice Lowery of Augusta, Georgia, Mattie Manuel and Chris tine Brown of Chicago, Illinois; two god-children, Lorenzo Lockhart, Savannah, Georgia, and Kerminlita Stevens, Augusta, Georgia; two step-grandchildren, Jestine Mathews and Jessie Brown, Jr., Fort Pierce, Florida; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

W h e n you are hurting, come to Me and I will bind your wounds.
When you need to be assured, come to Me and I will give you My embrace.
When you can no longer go on, come to Me and I will carry you.
When you need comfort, come to Me and 1will wipe your tears.
When you are uncertain of My love, come to Me and I will speak My heart to you.
Always remember that in your need you are coming to the One who came for you.
