** OBITUARY **
Hardwicks brief span upon this earth can best be characterized
by the ideals he held and deeds performed for his fellow man; whether they be friend or foe. His love and devotion for his
family was second to none. He was an avid sportsman with basketball being his favorite, as his pet name implied.
Hardwick was bom August 25, 1939 to Ms. Addie Mae President and the late Oscar Smith. He attended schools in Richmond Coun ty, and was graduated in 1957 from the Lucy Craft Laney High School. He also attended Paine College.
On December 10, 1960, he was united in holy matrimony to
Elease Johnson. To this union was born two children, Cheryl and Hardwick Jr.
Precious memories will be cherished by his devoted wife, Mrs.
Elease J. Smith; one daughter, Cheryl R. Smith; two sons,
Hardwick F. Smith and Darryl Mack; his mother, Ms. Addie M. President; one sister, Cynthia Vinson.
He will be sadly missed by all of us, but his ideals and thoughts
will remain immortalized.
. .
OUR MEMORY SHALL BE A BLESSING We can face death nobly when we resolve so to live and to work in the years allotted to us that no one shall cry in frustration or anger when we have gone, that no one shall silently curse the day of our birth but rather that they shall recall our day upon earth in the concert hall of memory and shall laugh, with the overbrim ming joy that a dear one walked the earth bravely and lovingly once upon a time. . . .Then indeed our memory shall be a bless ing.

Our Creator would never have made such lovely days And have given us the deep hearts to enjoy them, Above and beyond all thoughts, Unless we were meant to be immortal.
APPRECIATION
We deeply appreciate all acts of love and concern shown during our bereavement.
