li f e is like a mountain railroad, -with an engineer that's brave; We must make the run successful, from the cradle to the grave; Watch the curves, the fills , the tunnels; neverfalter, never quail; K eep your hand upon the throttle, and your eye upon the rail.
You w ill ro ll upgrades o f trial; you w ill cross the bridge o f strife See that Christ is your conductor on this lightning train o f life; Always mindful o f obstruction, do your duty, neverfa il; K eep your hand upon the throttle, and your eye upon the rail.
You w ill often fin d obstructions; look fo r storms o f wind and rain; On a fill, or curve, or trestle, they w ill almost ditch your train; Put your trust alone in Jesus; neverfalter, neverfa il; K eep your hand upon the throttle, and your eye upon the rail.
A s you roll across the trestle, spanning Jordan's sw elling tide, You behold the union depot into which your train w ill glide; There y o u 'll meet the superintendent, G od the Father, G od the Son, With the hearty, jo you s plaudit, weary pilgrim , welcome home.
