OBITUARY
Time to be Born
Jeaconess Anne Shepard was born on May 13, 1928 in Augusta, Georgia, to the late James nd Matilda Newhouse Howard.
Time to Grow nine attended public schools in Augusta, and graduated from Augustus R. Johnson High School May 31, 1946. After graduating from high school, she relocated to Jersey City, tew Jers;ey> where her late brother, James H. Howard, lived. There she worked many years t Wondejrland Fashions until the business relocated to the South. After that, she joined Jacy's P Newark, where she worked as a salesperson/cashier in the Men's Department until er retire,,]ment in 1993. She loved reading and doing puzzles. She also loved current events nd watching documentaries on the PBS channels.
Timeto Love 'he Lord blessed Anne with three children - two daughters and a son. As a single parent, dth the help of her mother, Matilda, Anne worked hard to raise and educate her three hildreri with an abundance of love, caring, and discipline. Anne was joined in Holy latrimany to Fred Shepard on December 31,1981.
Time to Worship mne always attended church. When she came to Jersey City, she united with Jerusalem lissio Baptist Church and was baptized in 1968 by the late Rev. H. B. Percy, 'she was ery acti at Jerusalem; she served in the following ministries: Missionary Society, Gospel ihorus, Sunday School, and Hospitality. She was currently a of the Deaconess, a Trustee and io-Chai-Person of the Trustee Board, under the Leadership of Pastor R. L. Bellamy. She was Iso very>-active in the New Hope Association. One of her favorite sayings was, "Keep ookingt}oi the Master,"
Time for Fun and Friends nne had many friends. She never went anyplace where she didn't make a friend, She w__as a active participant in the Senior Program at Bethany Baptist Church in Newark aid enjoyed oing oh many outings with them. She attended many Masonic Conventions around the luntry with her husband. In addition, she and her daughter, Tanya, had an annual tradition f going to the Pocono's for rest and relaxation.

Time to Cherish eacomtes Shepard leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 23 years, Deacon Fred hepardl; three children: Edith Tanya Howard, Victor Louis Howard, and Toni Arne utman; one daughter-in-law, Blancha S. Howard; one grandson - Jarrod Darnell PPutman; vo gramddaughters,,Tameka Taylor and Christina Walker; and one great-granddai ghter, nani >les. She also leaves one brother, William L. Howard; five sisters-in-law- Willie lae Ho?ward, Annie Mae Howard, Susie Mae Shepard, Arve Shepard, and Malted a Gary; tie brothl'er-in-law, Walter Shepard; as well as a host of other relatives and friends
