D uring the q u iet m orning hours of February 20, 2009, B r e n d a
Beard Scott, saw the light of glory and began her journey
home.
Brenda was born in Augusta, Georgia, to Georgia Searles-Beard and The late R. J. Beard.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Bethel African M ethodist Episcopal Church, Augusta, Georgia. Brenda was a member of the Youth Choir, played the piano for the Sunday School and sang w ith the C. E. W ells G ospel Choir. Later years she joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church.
Brenda graduated from Thomas Walter Josey Comprehensive High School class of '69. She also attended Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee, Alabama.
Brenda leaves to treasure her memories: her husband Derrick Scott, Sr., of A tlanta, Georgia; one son, D errick (Starlette) Scott, Jr. one grandson, Derrick Scott III of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia (Gary) M arshall; Linda (Frazier) Bolton. Nephews: Darrian Beard, Neim an Beard and Larry Beard, Atlanta Georgia; Brother-in-law, Gregory, Darryl, Christopher, Anthony, Rodney and Barron Scott, Atlanta, Georgia. Faithful and loving mother and father-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grier of Macon Place, Atlanta, Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends. One Aunt Azolee Gilchrist, Parkville, S. C.
She was proceeded in death by her father R.J. Beard and brother Larry Beard.
