For Mrs. Eva W. Scott

OBITUARY

Mrs. Eva Williams Scott was born November

15, 1892, in Augusta, Georgia.

She attended the Old Mauge Street School

and Paine College.

At an early age, she was baptized by the

late Rev. C.S. Wilkes.

t In January 1913, she was married to Mr, j.

Samuel Scott, who preceded her in death,

]

; For many years, she resided in New York !

City where she organized the Georgia Circle,

and was affiliated with many other organizations.

She was also past Matron of the Eastern Star.

In 1958 Mrs. Scott and her husband re

turned to Augusta to live. She immediately began

her church work here at the Thankful Baptist

Church by joining the Missionary Society, and

teaching Sunday School.

She leaves to mourn her loss: a loving 1 mother, Mrs. Jennie Oliphant; Uncle, Mr. Leroy

Heard; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Williams

and Mrs. Blanche Tutt; brother-in-law, Mr.

Roosevelt Tutt, Nieces, Mewhews and a host of friends. A god son, Mr. Robert Johnson.

So live that when thy summons comes to

join the innumerable caravan that moves to that

mysterious realm, where each shall take his

chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go

not, like the quarry-slave at night scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed by an

unfaltering trust, approach thy grave like

one who wraps the drapery of his couch about ;

him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.

Lord, help us so to live

;

That, when death waiting stands, j
