Charlie Sapp Sr. was born in Barnwell County, SC on May 4th, 1935 to the late Berry and Russell Sapp. He was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters; 6 brothers and 4
sisters preceded him in death. He departed this life on April 25, 2007 in Dover, DE.
Charlie served in the United States Army for over 6 years. He went on to become a successful businessman,
obtaining his engineering license and owing his own mechanics and fueling station in Newark, NJ, where he was also a resident for over 36 years. He continued his
work in service by becoming a United States Postal Service employee, where he was a dedicated driver for over 23 years. During his tenure with the Postal Service, he received numerous awards for his commitment to
excellence and safety.
Charlie will be remembered by his great smile, his infectious laugh, his love of family, passion for reading the Bible, his handy work around the home, and his ability to
always help those in need.
He leaves to remember his wonderful life: His loving wife of 31 years, Minnie Sapp of Dover, DE. Two Sons: Charlie Sapp Jr. (wife Yolanda) and Gregory Sapp, both of Augusta, GA. Three Daughters: Gwendolyn Johnson, Linda Sapp both of Augusta, GA and Keisha Sapp of Elizabeth, NJ. Two Grandsons: Anthony Brantley
and Marquis Ellis both of Augusta, GA. Three Granddaughters: Amirah Culbreath (husband Jerome), Arneisha Reid, and Ariel Green all of Augusta, GA. Three Great Grandsons: Terrence Culbreath, Adarian Brantley and Acorian Brantley. One sister: Annie Mae Searcy of Atlanta, GA. Five Brothers-In-Law: James Searcy, Robert Murray, Earl Murray, Sammy Murray, and Carl Murray. Five Sisters-In-Law: Lois Sapp, Betty Daniels, Kathleen Mair, Beatrice Davis, and Jacqueline Murray, and host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
