"Respectfully At Your Service" PHINAZEE and SON FUNERAL HOME

We have come together today at the call of death, an event that is constantly occuring around us. Death stares us in the face on all sides. The fields that were green a few days ago are now brown. God teaches in His word "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof fadeth away." Most people look upon death as a dark and gloomy thing without one redeeming quality; but, the death of the righteous is like the lowering clouds that shut out the sun at noon day; It has a bright side and a silver lining. Death to a Christian is moving out of this cold, friendless, dark world into eternal daylight.
Mother Gertrude "Rilla" Walthour Rouse departed this earthly life during the early morning hour of 6 a.m. on Friday, November 20,1998, at the home of her daughter in Jacksonville, Florida. Rilla, as she was affectionately known, was born to the late Deacon Jack and Mother Elizabeth Freeman Walthour, Sr., on April 13, 1914 in Waynesboro, Burke County, Georgia, being the youngest of 14 chil dren.
During her early years, she was converted, baptized and joined the Bottsford Spring Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rever end SJ. Jones. She remained loyal and true to her God, family, church family and usher ministry until declining health and later falling asleep in death.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Chester Rouse in 1930. This union was blessed with three children.
"Granny" (Aunt Rilla) memories will be cherished and long remembered in the hearts of: one daughter, Mrs. Grade (Lowell) Smith ofJacksonville, Florida; two sons, Mr. Phelps (Agnes) Rouse and Mr. Fred (Marie) Rouse, both of Miami, Florida; two sistersin-law, Ms. Janie Lee Rouse of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Paralee Fuller of Augusta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends; one adopted nephew, Reverend Anthony (Teresa) Daniel of Augusta, Georgia.

When time shall come for my leaving, When I bid you adieu;
Dont spend your money for flowers Just a rose will do.
Ill go to a beautiful garden, At last when lifes work is through; . Dont spend your money for flowers,
Just a rose will do. Just have an old-fashioned preacher
Preach a sermon so true; Ill need no organization Just to make a "to-do". Ill need no bright decorations,
Just a rose will do.
