Obituary
Deacon Herbert M. Ross was born to Alec and Charity Ross on June 1, 1918 in Edgefield, SC. During his teen years, Herbert and his family d to Augusta, GA where he grew up with his three sisters: Essie, Catherine, and Lillian. He entered the Armed Services during WWII and served in the Quartermaster Corps in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge, he met and married Theresa Cantey in 1947. Out of this union, their son, Herbert C. Ross was born.
Deacon Ross worked at Lilly Tulip Company and Wren Optical Supply for many years. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church; serving on the Deacon Board, Choir and Sunday School.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 57 years, Theresa C. Ross, his son Herbert C. Ross, daughter-in-law, Constancia, grandchildren, Milton and Shakana, sister-in-law, Evelyn C. Alexander (Paul) and a host of nieces and nephews.
