Carol Anita Rodgers was the youngest of six children horn to Mattie and Willie B. Hill. She was horn on Septemher 27, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia. She was affectionately known hy her family as "Nita."
Nita went to school in Richmond County, attending A.R. Johnson Junior High School and LucyC. Laney High School. She further pursued an interest in cosmetology which she enjoyed.
At an early age, she joined the church and was baptized at Mr. Calvary Baptist Church. In later years, she joined Ross Grove Baptist Church. Nita enjoyed working in her church. She loved to sing and enjoyed working wherever she was needed, Bihle Study and Sunday School.
She loved her family and became a young "matriarch" as she so lov/ngly sought to look after everyone. She was always the force that kept the family happy when they were together. Nita leaves a legacy of love to her family.
The moon was shining ever so hrightly as those who loved her upon this earth felt her presence. The stars were glowing as they proudly proclaimed and spelled out her name, and of all the peaceful joys that she was worth. Her love is reflected in all of us here today.

Im Free
Dont grieve for me, (or now Im free
Im following the path God has laid for me.
I took Hi? hand when I heard Him call

I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or phty,
Tasks left HiiJniu1 DIH.SI slay thai way
I found peace at the end of the day .
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
1 wish you the sunshine of tomorrow ,
My lifes been full, I savored much,
Good friends, gin>d times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Dont lengthen it now with undue grief
