OBITUARY
James (Skeeter) Robinson was born June 18. 1939, in Beaufort, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Alonza and Geneva Robinson. James went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2011. His passing is a great loss for his family.
James was a member of Grace Chapel AME Church. He was also a Shriner, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was educated in the public schools of Beaufort County and was a graduate of Robert Smalls High School. He attended Savannah State College until he was drafted into the United States Army. He was deployed to Germany in the early l9BD's and continued to serve his country in the Army National Guard until he was honorably discharged.
James had a great love for humanity. He was always willing to help and teach others from his life experiences. He loved different makes and models of cars. He had a great influence on the types of cars his loved ones chose to purchase. He was a walking encyclopedia of cars! He worked in several capacities in Beaufort including the Beaufort Police Department, and Sears. He retired from the Beaufort Naval Hospital in the early l99D's. After retiring, he started an auto detailing business which he continued until his health declined.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first born son, Alonza Robinson, and a brother. Isaiah Robinson.
Surviving are his wife. Hazel; a daughter, Jacqueline; a son, Jamie; four grandsons, DeVante Alston. Jamie Frazier, Cameren James Robinson, and Julius Jenkins; a sister, Patsy Jackson; nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and many wonderful friends.
