Don'tgrieve fo r me, fo r now I 'm free. I 'm follow ing the pnth God laid fo r me. I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way I fou n d that peace at the close o f the day.
I f my partin g has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too w ill miss.
Be not burdened with times o f sorrow, I wish you the sunshine o f tomorrow. My life's been fu ll, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, D on't lengthen it now with undue grief. L ift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now and yes, he set me FREE.

Obituary
Mr. Ivan H. Roberson, born in Pantego, North Carolina on November 5,1945 to the late James & Lottie Roberson, made his transition into eternal life on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Doctors Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
Ivan grew up in Pantego, receiving his formal education there. He attended the Macedonia Church of Christ, until relocating to New York City.
Ivan was employed in the area of law enforcement - New York City Police Officer and U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Officer retiring after a total of 30 years of service. He was an enthusiastic member of several civic organizations, fraternal organizations including Abu Bekr Temple #91; Royal Arch Masons, Order of the Eastern Star - Sunshine Chapter, and WM of Widow Sons Lodge No. 11.
God and family were the most important fiber of life to Ivan. After joining the St. Paul Church of Christ Disciples, in Brooklyn, New York, Ivan served faithfully for nearly thirty years, in positions which included: Trustee, Usher, Member of the Male Chorus, and Men's Council. He was truly a Doorkeeper for the Lord, making the Usher Ministry his favorite assignment. After relocating to Evans, GA in 2007, Ivan joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church serving in the Ushers Ministry.
While a widower, single handedly raising his sons, Ivan met and married Emma Walker in 1980. Ivan affectionately known as "Robie" by friends, and "Pops" by young people, was a solid strong husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. This strong love of family and family values were instilled in his children, grandchildren and extended family. Pops most enjoyed, spoiling grandchildren, fishing, traveling and talking with his St. Paul "Brothers".
His life will be continually celebrated and deeply cherished by his loving wife Emma, three sons: Kelvin (Aquil) Roberson, Bernard (Bilaal) Roberson of Cary, North Carolina, Wesley Davis of Queens, New York, daughter in-laws Fatimah, Judith and Sharifah, ten granddaughters: Salimah, Zakkiyah, Rahma, Jessica, Aneesah, Aqeelah, Tasneem, Tamia Nusaybah and Assata; five grandsons: Siddiq, Ameen, Nadheer, Muhammad and Jonah. Two Sisters Lula Roberson and Eula Bishop. One brother, Charles Roberson, two brother-in-laws: Robert Bishop and Richard Walker; two sister-in-laws: Erline Roberson and Diane Walker; one God mother Susie Sanford, one godson, Theo Colbert, Cousin Mamie Moore, lifetime family friend, Amye Moore, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and the St. Paul Church Family of Brooklyn New York.
