REVEREND SAMUEL TANKSLEY, INTERIM PASTOR

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. Galatians 5:22-23 Obituary
Sister Agnes Riley was the youngest of seven siblings of the Jones family of Allendale. South Carolina. All of her siblings and her parents predeceased her.
Sister Riley was educated in the public schools of South Carolina and she followed her dreams which lead her to jobs and residences in Savannah, Georgia, Richmond, Virginia and New York City. She met and married David Riley in 1955. Together they established a Christian home and they lived a quiet, meaningful life.
Church work played a major role in Sister Rileys life. In New York, she was an active, dutiful member of the First Corinthian Baptist Church. When she relocated to Augusta, she joined Thankful Baptist church. At both churches, she served dutifully and faithfully as an usher... a ministry she loved.
Her career as an operating room technician is legendary. She was employed at Metropolitan Hospital of New York City and she received many accolades and awards for her level of skill and proficiency. Upon retirement, she. her husband and her sister, Ethel, moved to Augusta, Georgia, to enjoy the southern lifestyle!
A true Christian, she loved worship and serving in the church. Sister Riley accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and she continued her Christian journey until her death on June 27, 2008. At the time of her death, she was under the loving care of her daughter, Dorothy, whose love and concern for her mother and father exceeds any and all expectations. We know that Dorothy will have a "starry crown" in the hereafter.
