Mr. (Edward CooRdge <Ri(ey, retired educator, was Born on January 1, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida to the [ate Willie (Rjfey and tfettie (Bush (Rifey. Jit an early age thefamily moved to Augusta, (jeorgia, where he spent most of his fife.
(RiCey, as he was affectionately called, was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Schoolandfilabama State "University. J^fter retirement, he attended(Denmar^TechnicalCollege andstudiedTailoring.
Jfe was a dedicated andfaithful member of The Church of the !Most rinity anda member ofThe tonights ofColumbus.
Edwardwas a charter member ofthe iJpsilon gamma Sigma Chapter of (Phi (Beta Sigma fraternity, Inc. andwas theirfirst (President. JCe loved andwas proud of hisfraternity and his "(Bama State". We also helped to establish the flugusta J&tumni Chapter ofAlabama State "University and served as Resident. J{e was instrumental in recruiting many stu dentsfrom this area.
Jfis [ong andindustrious teaching career Began in Sylvania, Cjeorgia and expanded to flugusta, where he taught at the Augusta TechnicalSchool and Lucy C- Laney Jfigh School. Jfrs an educator he encouraged, moti vated, and trained many studentsfor careers andjobs in the flugusta community.

Left to cherish his memories are: a de-voted son, Edward (R^ley, Jr.; two brothers, Ernest (Riky (Janet) andWillie (Riley, Jr. (Ctaudia), all of fiugusta, Cjeoraia; one brother-in-law, (Rgchelle Small(Sadie) ofSouth ern (pines, North Carolina; sister-in-law, (Barbara Lewis of California; nieces andnephews; anda host ofcousins, relatives andfriends.
