If but one message I may leave behind one single word of courage, it would be this, "oh! family and friends, what ever life may bring or what God may send, no matter whether clouds lift soon or late, look to God.....pray and wait"
Sunset for this beautiful life came late Sunday night October 9, 1994 "Ola" as she was affectionately called, stepped over the theshold of life and followed the angel of death home. She was born in Columbia County, Georgia. One of nine children from the blessed union of Doucious Young and Frances Dixon Young.
She grew up in the Augusta area. During her early teens she left Augusta and made her home in Dover New Jersey. She married Harry Ray a union filled with love and happiness. He preceded her in death.
In 1984, she relocated to her former home, Augusta, Georgia. She extended her membership from Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dover, New Jersey to Gumming Grove.Baptist Church.
As Ola prepared her life for her final pilgrimage home she labored with the Senior Mission and the Roy Elam Singers until health problems prevented her from attending. Today, family and friend gather in her honor to thank God for the faith she shared with us.
She Leaves to cherish fond memories, one sister Mrs. Georgia Glover Augusta, Five Nephews Mr. and Mrs. Sterling (Johnnie) Hansford Plainsfield NJ. THE FAMILY ************
One Final Gift
Scatter me not to restless-winds Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by... When loving gifts I gave to thee. Remember now the happy times... The family ties we shared.
Dont leave my resting place unmarked As though you never cared. Deny me not onefinal gift For all who come to see...
A single lasting proof that says I loved... and you loved me.
